There's something to be said for saving valuable invincibility consumables for dicey situations, but oftentimes it's safer bet to just pop the consumable and melt the floor boss without having to get clammy hands over baby plum's super soaker attack. Use them to explore a free curse room, pay out a devil beggar (can be a game changer), grab some cash from a blood dono machine, enjoy a risk-free challenge room (if you can evaporate enemies before your invincibility runs out), or simply save it for some tough mobs. My first instinct is always to save them, but many times you're holding a holy card, and don't want to leave it behind. Speaking of algiz rune, what should you do with invincibility consumables? Sunshine pill, chariot card, etc. I usually hold onto them for bosses, and sometimes even leave a holy card behind for an algiz rune.Ĩ. ![]() Save your Jera rune in case you find a holy card (or dupe your current one). ![]() Instead of immediately popping that Moon card you just found, fly into a curse room or challenge room, loot the goodies, and then bounce. Do note that higher luck = higher chance to generate a holy card as a room rewardħ. But the closer I get to womb (where I don't really need keys, coins, or bombs as much), the more likely I am to switch it out. If my build is reliant on luck-based effects (like ghost pepper), no way I'm dropping perfection. Higher chance to generate holy cards, but does it outweigh the extra chance from having 10 additional luck?Īgain, really depends on the situation. Wooden cross - only if I don't currently have mantle active, it's treated as the same shield as holy cardĭevils crown - unless I'm trying to get angel deals/key piecesĪce of spades - still not sure about this one. Trinket choice is always situational, but trinkets I would consider dropping perfection for:ĪAA battery - only if I have book of shadows, hourglass, etc You know you're most likely going to have 99 coins by the time you leave the womb.Ħ. Additionally, consider the money situation when you have the opportunity to pick up money = power. Lost has a smaller item pool, and I was surprised how often I ran into birthright, glowing hourglass, and other S tier items when I would reroll aggressively for them. Use this to your advantage and milk shop reroll machines dry, as well as pay out coin beggars. This obviously makes % chance tear affects WAY better, but it also guarantees a steady supply of coinage and other pickups. Perfection - unless you pick up birthright, die, and respawn, you're going to be getting perfection on floor 3. Keeper run, complete basement 1, dump coins into machine, repeat as needed.ĥ. More often than not, I'm bombing the machine on basement 1. Keep that donation machine full, or at least above 10ish. ![]() Can't tell you how many runs have been saved by a pre-emptive 9 volt pick up on basement 1, and then finding a book of shadows on depths 2.Ĥ. Even if you don't currently have an active item. Speaking of shop items, pick up every single battery item you see, namely 9 volt, the battery, 4.5 volt, and jumper cables (if you can afford them). I'll go out on a limb here and say the shop is more important to T. All items I would shoot every poop and extinguish every fire to buy. Of course you got your holy cards, but also, deck of cards, glowing hourglass, placebo (situational), coupon (lets you take 2 devil items), ANY battery item, starter deck, stopwatch, options, charged baby, blanket, jumper cables, backpack, birthright, booster pack, keepers sack, card reading, etc. Check every single shop - Definitely an obvious one, but it took me awhile to realize just how many S-tier items are located in the shop. If you're a god tier gamer who hasn't gotten hit since rebirth came out, save it, but I personally have a 50/50 chance of getting hit by every basement pooter.Ģ. Really a personal preference thing, but as a general rule, take a peek in the first shop before using it. ![]() However, I've had plenty of runs where I popped my first card, got hit on basement 1, and went on to win the run. Yes, there's definitely a chance that you find blank card in a secret room or shop on the first or second floor, so you can consider saving it for a floor or two. Your first holy card - personally, I just pop that shit right off the bat. A lot of these are probably obvious for most of y'all, but I figured I'd write them out anyway.įeel free to add anything, as I'm sure I'll miss a few.ġ. I've been seeing a lot posts/memes about how tough tainted lost is, and I just wanted to dump some tips down for anyone who happens to be struggling.
